April Honor Flight Takes Vets To DC Memorials Saturday

All are invited to give them the send-off and welcome home that many of them never received, organizers say.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — It's spring, and Mission 32 of the Hudson Valley Honor Flight will take off Saturday.

Hudson Valley Honor Flight flies veterans free of charge on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Washington, D.C., where they are transported around the district by bus to visit war memorials, attend a dinner in their honor and then return home. Each veteran is escorted by a personal guardian and the HVHF flight team for the day-long trip. The organizers have been doing it since 2014.

There will be a total of 82 veterans on this flight. Of them, five are Korean War veterans; 11 are Cold War veterans; and 66 are Vietnam veterans.
