Coronavirus: Father Of Dutchess County Executive Dies

The elder Molinaro had been hospitalized at the Westchester Medical Center.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The father of Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro died Friday. Anthony Molinaro was in the hospital because of the new coronavirus.

Marc Molinaro announced his father's passing on social media.

"All our lives have been touched in some way by the coronavirus and we know we will never be the same," he said. "This afternoon, my father died and while it's natural to dwell on the final moments, I know it is the value of all the moments that makeup our lives together that matters most."

Molinaro said his father was not alone at the time of his death.

"He was expertly and passionately cared for by an amazing team of doctors, nurses and caregivers," he said.

"I already miss my father but confidently know of his love for my sisters, their mom, my brother and me," Molinaro said. "And, we are grateful for the moments and memories we shared."

On Wednesday, Molinaro said during a Facebook town hall that his father was "struggling to stay alive" while on a ventilator at the Westchester Medical Center.
