Noble Declares Victory In Kingston Democratic Mayoral Primary

The incumbent mayor was challenged by community organizer Frank Waters.

KINGSTON, NY — Registered Democrats in the city of Kingston went to the polls Tuesday to decide whether the incumbent mayor would get to run on the Democratic Party line in November to keep the job.

Incumbent Mayor Steven T. Noble was challenged by Frank Waters.

Noble declared victory shortly before 10 p.m., according to the Times Union.

According to unofficial results from the Ulster County Board of Elections, Noble had 65 percent of the vote to Waters's 34.6 percent.

Steven T. Noble has been mayor of Kingston since 2016. He previously served the city as an environmental educator and operations specialist.

Frank Waters is a community organizer, who was previously the executive director of Kingston Midtown Rising and is currently serving on its board.

Noble will face Republican Scott Denny in the November general election.
