The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with gala guests enjoying a pre-show cocktail party with music, featuring a bountiful selection of signature canapé and show-stopping hors d’oeuvres at a new Poughkeepsie event venue, Keepsake at The Academy, which is a five-minute walk from the theater.

Tickets for the gala are $125 for the show only and a tax-deductible donation. For premier seating, the pre-show cocktail party and a tax-deductible donation, it’s $275.

For Bardavon members, tickets go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 23. For the public, tickets will be on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26.

Bardavon Executive Director Chris Silva told Patch the annual gala is the most public outreach the theater makes for community support.

“So many of the Bardavon’s programs, from free films to educational programs that reach thousands of young people each year, cannot support themselves,” he said. “That’s why Baradvon membership and donations large and small are essential.”

To purchase tickets, visit the Bardavon and UPAC box offices from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. To purchase tickets online 24 hours a day go to Ticketmaster (fees will apply). Contact the Bardavon by calling 845-473-5288 or by email.

The Bardavon 1869 Opera House is at 35 Market St. in Poughkeepsie.
