Police ID Man Killed In Saturday's Fatal Crash On I-84

As the investigation continues, state police are asking anyone who saw the collision or the vehicles before the crash to contact them.

NEWBURGH, NY — The man who died in a 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 Saturday was Warwick resident Andrew Saccone, New York state police reported.

At 7:40 a.m., state troopers responded to a 2-vehicle accident on Interstate 84 in the town of Newburgh.

Police said according to their preliminary investigation, an SUV rear-ended a small compact car, causing both vehicles to leave the highway and the SUV to roll over. The driver of the SUV, who was its only occupant, died.

He was identified as Saccone, 36, Public Information Officer Steven Nevel told Patch Thursday.

As the investigation continues, state police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or observed the vehicles prior to the crash to please contact the state police at 845-344-5300.
