Resorts World Hudson Valley Casino Opens In Newburgh

The casino is bringing 250 new full-time jobs to the area with an average annual wage of $72,000.

NEWBURGH, NY — The newest casino in New York celebrated its grand opening Wednesday in Orange County.

Resorts World Hudson Valley opened its doors in the Newburgh Mall.

The casino brings 250 new full-time jobs to the area with an average annual wage of $72,000, according to a spokesperson.

Robert DeSalvio, president of Genting Americas East, the owner of the casino, said they’ve received a warm welcome from the Hudson Valley community and hope residents stop by to check them out.

“Along with our partners in Orange County, we are elated the casino is now open for business, and we can’t wait for the area to begin to reap the benefits,” he said.

“We can think of no better way to ring in 2023 than by celebrating right here with us in Resorts World Hudson Valley,” DeSalvio said.

The casino features 60,000 square feet of gaming and hospitality space, including 1,200 state-of-the-art slot machines and electronic table games, as well as the Resorts World Bet Sports Bar.

Officials said the casino will play a crucial role in a revitalization plan to benefit current tenants of the Newburgh Mall and attract new ones.

Visitors to the casino are encouraged to sign up for Genting Rewards, which is Resorts World’s loyalty program. According to the website, membership is free and can be used to earn free play, retail discounts, food and beverage offers and more.

The Newburgh Mall is at 1401 Route 300 in Newburgh.
