TGI Fridays In Woodbury Closes

WOODBURY, NY — TGI Fridays announced that it closed 36 underperforming locations in the United States, including one in the Hudson Valley.

The restaurant at 5 Centre Dr. in Woodbury was closed. The location is no longer listed on the TGI Fridays website.

TGI Fridays made the announcement of closures in a news release Wednesday.

Ray Risley, president and COO of TGI Fridays, said the company’s top priority has always been delivering a superior experience for every restaurant guest.

“We’ve identified opportunities to optimize and streamline our operations to ensure we are best positioned to meet — and exceed — on that brand promise,” he said.

“By strengthening our franchise model and closing underperforming stores, we are creating an unprecedented opportunity for Fridays to drive forward its vision for the future,” Risley said.

The company announced it is offering more than 1,000 transfer opportunities, which represents more than 80 percent of total impacted employees.

In the mid-Hudson Valley, there are TGI Fridays in Newburgh, Middletown and Poughkeepsie.
