T-Storms, Isolated Tornado Possible For Mid-Hudson Valley

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of the mid-Hudson Valley.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Severe weather — including the possibility of an isolated tornado — could affect the parts of the mid-Hudson Valley Thursday.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties.

There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening, with the main threat being damaging wind gusts and large hail.

In addition, an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out, meteorologists said.
