HudsonWay Immersion School announced today it is launching a new scholarship program designed to provide K-6th grade students the opportunity to develop biliteracy in Mandarin or Spanish in a program designed to produce global citizens. Students without prior exposure to Mandarin or Spanish can successfully acquire the language to high levels of proficiency while learning skills and knowledge comparable to other high achieving private K-8 schools.

“In the past few years, we have experienced an increased desire on the part of parents to have their children participate in our dual-language immersion program, “said Sue Ha, Head of School. “Our educational support model for helping these students achieve success has proven to be very successful, which is why we are now launching a scholarship program to accommodate more students in making this exciting leap into a dual-immersion education.”

Special preference will be given to those interested in joining NY’s Spanish Kindergarten program in what will be the second year since the launch of this program in NY. The application process involves an application, assessment, and interviews. Based on interest, up to 10 partial scholarships will be awarded.
