3 Killed In 'Horrific' Northern State Parkway Crash

Police say a car left the roadway and became engulfed in flames Sunday morning.

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY — Three people were killed in fiery crash on the Northern State Parkway in Nassau County Sunday morning, state police said.

According to police, a car was heading east in the area of Exit 30 in Roslyn Heights when the vehicle left the roadway, struck several trees and then became "fully engulfed" in flames at about 5 a.m.

The driver and both passengers in the car died at the scene. No IDs have been released pending next of kin notifications.

The crash, which witnesses described as "horrific" on social media, is still under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to call 631-756-3300.
