Woman Fatally Shot By Robbers In NYC Apartment Building: NYPD

NEW YORK CITY — A woman was fatally shot in the head during an attempted robbery inside a Manhattan apartment building Monday night, police said.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. inside 44 Market Street in the Lower East Side, police said.

Ying Zhu Liu was found with the fatal gunshot in an eighth-floor hallway inside the building, police said.

The victim's husband told police that two unknown individuals followed him into his building and tried to rob him in the hallway.

Liu stepped outside of her apartment and was shot in the head, police said.
