Police Probing Friday's Fatal Crash On The Palisades Parkway

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — New York State police responded to a fatal car crash on the southbound Palisades Interstate Parkway near exit 16 at 6:50 p.m. Friday.

According to their preliminary conclusions, a 2013 Acura MDX operated by Michael Paradis of Pelham, New York, was traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway onto the west shoulder, then struck a tree and rolled over. The investigation continues.

The 56-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was the only person in the vehicle.

During the investigation, state police shut down the parkway from the traffic circle to the bookstore, Rockland Buff reported.
