ELMONT, NY — Two officers were injured when a man resisted arrest in connection with a disturbance at a home in Elmont on Monday night, Nassau police said.

A 45-year-old woman arrived at her Elmont home with her two teenage daughters, and she became involved in an argument with Tristan Jobity, 38, of Jamaica, police said. Jobity broke numerous items in the home and grabbed the cellphone from the woman's hands when she tried to call 911, police said. The woman and her daughters left the home and returned with police officers, police said.

Jobity was still at the home, police said. Two officers tried to place him into custody but suffered injuries because Jobity was "violent and combative while resisting arrest," police said.
