3 Rob Man Walking On Hempstead Turnpike In Nassau: Police

A cell phone, credit cards, headphones, and personal papers, were taken from his pockets and his backpack, police said.

ELMONT, NY — A 37-year-old man was roughed up and robbed while walking on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont on Wednesday night, Nassau County police said.

He was walking eastbound on the turnpike at Savoy Avenue just before 11 p.m. when he was approached by three unknown males who were wearing all black clothing and had their faces covered, according to detectives.

The trio then grabbed and pushed him against the side of a building and removed his personal belongings, including a cell phone, credit cards, headphones, and personal papers, from his pockets and his backpack, detectives said.

The three then ran away southbound on Claridge Avenue, according to detectives.

The man was not injured in the attack.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, a confidential police hotline.
