ELMONT, NY — Firefighters were called on the Fourth of July to a blaze at an Elmont home.

The fire ignited in the basement around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday on Parkhurst Road. The Elmont Fire Department extinguished the flames, police said. No one was hurt.

The fire marshal's office and arson bomb squad detectives were investigating, police said.
