New Hyde Park Plant Closing, Nearly 100 Workers To Be Laid Off

The health and wellness e-commerce company will be closing its Long Island plants in January 2023, according to a WARN filing.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Pharmapacks, LLC on Long Island is laying off more than 450 employees, including dozens at its New Hyde Park plant, according to a Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing.

The health and wellness e-commerce shop will be closing "as a result of the Company's inability to secure financing to continue the Company's business," the filing stated. The company is scheduled to close on Jan. 8, 2023.

Pharmapacks has sites in Hauppauge, Edgewood, and New Hyde Park.

Of the 456 employees affected, 99 are from the New Hyde Park plant on Marcus Avenue.

According to the filing, 66 workers in New Hyde Park were laid off on Monday. More layoffs are expected up until Jan. 8, 2023.

As for Hauppauge, 23 employees were let go on Monday. The remaining separations will continue in waves up until Dec. 18, 2022, the filing stated.

The Edgewood plant let two employees go on Monday, with more to come until Jan. 8, 2023.
