Person Struck, Killed By LIRR Train In Nassau: MTA

The person, reportedly, was not authorized to be on the tracks.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — One person is dead after being struck by a Long Island Rail Road train at the New Hyde Park station, the MTA confirmed.

The incident happened just after 9:15 a.m. Monday. Newsday reported the person was "unauthorized" to be on the tracks.

MTA Police are investigating.

As of 11 a.m., two of the three tracks were in use through the station, the MTA said.
