Porch Pirates Nabbed Christmas Eve In Nassau: Police

There were reports of multiple thefts in the Williston park area, Nassau police said.

WILLISTON PARK, NY — A Queens man and a Pennsylvania woman were nabbed in connection with multiple porch pirate-type thefts in Williston Park on Christmas Eve, Nassau police.

Numerous calls were received for stolen packages in the area, and in each instance, an unknown person walked up to the front door of the location, removed the packages, and then bolted from the scene in a Chevrolet, according to police.

Upon further investigation, officers found the 50-year-old Elmhurst man, and the 55-year-old Avington, PA woman, and placed them under arrest without incident, police said.

The woman was found with Methamphetamine, a clear glass pipe containing a burnt substance
believed to be Methamphetamine, and unprescribed Hydrocodone pills, according to police. It was also determined that the man was in violation of an active order of protection, police said.

The woman was charged with two counts of petit larceny, two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and first-degree criminal contempt.

The man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and two counts of petit larceny.

They were arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
