ShotSpotter Technology Detects Shooting On Elmont Street: Police

Three shell casings were found on a street; no injuries were reported, Nassau police say.

ELMONT, NY — Detectives are looking for more information about a shooting that took place in Elmont early Sunday, Nassau police said.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification near Kingston Street at around 5:13 a.m., and upon arrival, they recovered three shell casings on the ground, according to police.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1 800–244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
