The drunken driver was among the five injured, police say. People in the other car suffered a broken hand or fractured legs, police say.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A Floral Park woman faces a DWI charge after she was involved in a crash that injured five people — herself included — in New Hyde Park on Tuesday night, Nassau police said.

Dilmeet Kaur, 21, was driving a 2019 BMW X3 northbound on Lakeville Road when she collided with a 2004 Nissan SUV being driven by a 34-year-old woman southbound on Lakeville Road around 11 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

The Nissan SUV had two women trapped inside, and Nassau officers began to help all involved in the crash, police said. Nassau police medics and firefighters from New Hyde Park and Manhasset freed the women from the Nissan and brought them to local hospitals, police said.
