20-Year-Old Arrested In Groping Of Teenage Girl At Train Station

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Terrifying moments at the New Rochelle train station have led to the arrest of a 20-year-old Westchester County man.

On Saturday, at about 9:19 p.m., New Rochelle police were called to the New Rochelle train station on a report of a possible sexual assault. The victim, an 18-year-old woman, reported that while she was walking across the pedestrian bridge leading from Station Plaza to Burling Lane, she was approached by a group of four men. She told police that one of the men then put his hand down the back of her pants before fleeing with the group westbound on Burling Lane.

Just hours later, at around 4 a.m., a suspect was located and brought in to New Rochelle Police Department headquarters for questioning. He was later charged in connection to the assault at the train station as well as for an outstanding warrant related to a domestic assault that occurred in 2022.

Rudy Osbaldo Garril-Lopez of New Rochelle was charged with forcible touching. The 20-year-old is also facing charges related to the 2022 arrest warrant, including assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
