Snow in the Forecast for the Weekend? Seriously? Seriously

A storm, which hasn't yet formed in the south, could combine with cold air to produce a snow event.

Cold air coming from the north will produce temps in the mid-40s Saturday and Sunday, but dipping to near freezing at night.

Compounding the problem is a storm forecast to come up from the south, the exact track of which is unknown.

AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams said there is a great deal of uncertainty about the storm at this point.

“This far out there are many variables that could affect the track of the storm, which has not formed yet, so it is too early to call one way or another,” he said.

Bill Potter of HudsonValleyWeather.com said this threat will likely get a lot of hype because not much weather-wise has happened this winter.

“That said … there is a potential for a significant winter storm Sunday into Monday,” he said. “As of now … that potential remains very uncertain.”
