Stolen Car Spotted In CVS Parking Lot Leads To Felony Weapon Arrest

The detectives' stakeout on the car eventually led to a suspect from the Bronx and an American flag "comb knife."

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Closer inspection an American flag comb, found on a suspect, revealed that personal grooming might not be its primary function, according to police.

On Wednesday, at about 1 p.m., New Rochelle Police Department detectives were alerted that a stolen vehicle was parked at the CVS Pharmacy at 222 North Avenue. Detectives from New Rochelle and Westchester County police responded and located the vehicle parked and unoccupied in the parking lot.

Detectives set up surveillance on the vehicle and, police say, a suspect soon returned and entered the vehicle. Detectives then converged on the vehicle and took their suspect, later identified as Jvon Adams, into custody. The 31-year-old Bronx man was also found to be in possession of a comb with a knife concealed in it when placed into custody, police said.

Adams was charged with misdemeanor unauthorized use of a vehicle and felony criminal possession of a weapon.
