'Tranquil' Start to Work Week Weather

Here's what you should look forward to around New Rochelle.

After a week of temps below normal followed by a nor’easter snowstorm, this week brings some relief, although the cycle of slight melting of the snow and refreezing of wet spots at night will continue — making icy patches possible early during the morning commute.

Still, meteorologists have a happy word to describe this next bit of weather.

“Our work week starts off very tranquil,” says Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. “Tuesday, we’ll see clouds move in, as a weak low pressure passes by to our north. A few spot showers are possible… but clouds will be the more notable weather story.”

In fact, on Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will climb up into the 40s, hopefully helping to melt more of the snow.

However, temperatures will return back to near or slightly below normal later this week, said Kristina Pydynowski, a senior meteorologist at accuweather.com.

Forecasters are watching another storm to the southeast which might or might not bring more snow to the Northeast. We’ll leave them to it.
