SOUTH SALEM, NY — A South Salem contractor is facing larceny charges after police say he stole expensive gear from a semiconductor supplier in Connecticut.

Ryan Jensen, 34, was a foreman working for Mars Electric, which was contracted to perform a large electrical project at ASML on Danbury Road in Wilton, beginning in July 2022, according to police.

In October, the Wilton Police Department was notified that a large amount of custom electrical components and specialized tools were missing from the contractor yard trailer.

After internal audits and tracking had been completed, the total loss was believed to be around $385,000, according to police. Investigators say they believe Jensen had been stealing the items and then pawning the equipment at pawn shops in Danbury.

Many of the items were no longer available at the pawn shops, but police say they were able to recover about $128,000 worth of the gear.
