Long Island’s warmest winter on record is expected to take a final bow later this week/weekend with one or two (or three!) inches of snow before Spring finally arrives.

“Light snow late [Thursday night] into Friday morning will likely result in snow-covered roads and hazardous travel conditions for the Friday morning commute,” the National Weather Service said in a “hazardous weather outlook” issued Thursday.

Temperatures will dip into the 20’s Thursday night and a light snowfall will hit the region after midnight and mostly end around noon Friday.

Friday will be in the mid-to-upper 30’s with winds making it feel even colder, according to the NWS. However, temperatures across the Island are expected to rise next week.
