NYACK, NY — Dwight D. Eisenhower famously said, "Politics ought to be the part-time profession of every citizen who would protect the rights and privileges of free people."

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week that affect Piermont and the Nyacks.

  • Nyack Climate Action Plan Public Workshop, 6 p.m., Village Hall

Wednesday

  • Orangetown Project Review Committee, 9:30 a.m., Greenbush Auditorium
  • Clarkstown Planning Board, 7 p.m., Historic Map Room. The board will consider a referral from the Town Board for a local law amending Section 290 of the Town Code to add definitions within the Zoning Code of the Town of Clarkstown to provide a clearer interpretation and align it better with other sections of the Town Code.
