Home sales prices up in Rockland, Westchester

Number of closed sales across the Hudson Valley plummeted last month.

In February, home sales prices were up were up in Rockland, Westchester and Orange counties. However, number of closed sales were drastically lower across the Hudson Valley, according to stats from OneKey MLS.

Median sales price for Rockland county homes was up 4% last month compared to February last year. In Westchester, it jumped up 7% and Orange county median sales prices went up 8% in February, year-on-year.

However, in nearby counties, prices were down. Median sales price in Putnam, Sullivan and the Bronx fell by 3%, 18% and 4%, respectively, compared to February 2022.

Number of closed sales across the Hudson Valley plummeted last month, down 30% in Westchester compared to February 2022 and in Rockland, it was down 37%. Experts point to lower inventory as to the reason why. Closed sales in Putnam, Orange, Sullivan and the Bronx dropped by 22%, 40%, 24% and 34% last month, year-on-year.
