The designers, owners and managers of Brooklyn-based Jellio, which makes unique home furnishings inspired by childhood, were approached by Pyramid Management Group, which owns and operates the Palisades Center.

"People had been asking for years when we were going to open a shop," Mario Marsicano, founder of Jellio and acting manager of Jellio World, told Patch. "When people see our furniture, the first thing they do is sit on it and take a selfie. We had heard about the 'selfie museum' concept, and decided this was a new direction to take the company."

The Jellio World funhouse will have more than 20 unique rooms and walls, a collection of interactive environments inspired by childhood memories and imagination that will work for selfie photography or video.

Jellio World will also be available for private events, from birthday and school parties to private photography sessions and even corporate team-building events.

"It’s an honor Jellio World chose Palisades Center to launch their first selfie studio," said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. "This retail trend has spread worldwide and now Palisades Center’s guests will have the opportunity to participate in this new entertainment experience."

For the next two weekends, staff will be out in front of the still-barricaded storefront on Level 3, offering discounts accompanied by a 4-foot tall tie-dye gummy bear so you can get a few selfies for practice before the funhouse opens next month.
