Mall's Indoor Walking Program Kicks Off Fall With Free Breakfast

Add walking in a safe and warm venue​​ to your regimen, and kick it off at the Palisades Center's free fall breakfast for walkers.

WEST NYACK, NY — Did you know there are two miles of indoor walking space, spanning four levels, at the Palisades Center?

If you're not one of the many who already exercise there in the colder months, you may not know that the mall also hosts free quarterly breakfasts for walkers.

The next one is from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday. It is free and advance registration is recommended. Click on the mall's webpage for walkers to also sign up for updates, walking maps, and tips.

"I'm one of the many Clarkstown residents that utilize Palisades Center’s Walking Program to stay healthy," said town Councilman Donald Franchino. "It's a fantastic program that allows individuals from Clarkstown and the surrounding communities to exercise for free in a safe and warm venue."

The breakfast is sponsored by Emerald Medicare, a Rockland County-based health insurance agency founded to assist seniors in navigating Medicare and its many choices and plans.

"We are looking forward to meeting Palisades Center's guests at the upcoming Walking Program Breakfast," said Mark Brownstein, director of medicare of Emerald Medicare. "We focus on helping our clients understand their Medicare options so they can make informed decisions and deliver solutions that are in their best interest. We are excited to hear the walkers' stories and learning more at Thursday's event."

Grab and go breakfast menu items will be provided by Palisades Center’s Dunkin’ and BJ’s Wholesale Club.

"We welcome the community to utilize our Center to maintain their healthy lifestyles all year long," said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center.
