Piermont Police Probe Incident That Sent Vehicle Into The Hudson River

Police were called to the Piermont Pier Wednesday over damage to the dock. The investigation expanded over video footage.

PIERMONT, NY — Police are investigating an incident on the Piermont Pier that involved dock and car damage and a person who steered a vehicle into the Hudson River.

The Piermont Police Department responded to Ferry Road at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a report of damage to the dock on the pier.

When officers arrived, they observed vehicle tire marks in the snow that traveled to the end of the dock.

They then found vehicle parts near a damaged area of the dock.

Video footage was obtained which showed a vehicle entering the docking area and the driver exiting the vehicle — which then proceeded off the end of the dock into the Hudson River.

The Piermont Police Department Detective Unit is investigating with the assistance of the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office.
