Quarry Fire In Haverstraw Destroys Crusher Tower

Officials said two tankers of water had to be brought to the site in order to fight the fire.

HAVERSTRAW, NY — A fire at the Haverstram Tilcon quarry started along a conveyor belt that takes materials up to a tower.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury battling the blaze which destroyed the tower, News 12 reported.

Because of the lack of fire hydrants in the area of the Tilcon facility, two 9,000-gallon tankers filled with water had to be brought in.
