Stony Point Police Track Down, Chase Down Fugitive From New Jersey

They stopped a car in which he was riding, and he got out and ran away.

STONY POINT, NY — Stony Point police tracked down and then had to chase down a 23-year-old New Jersey man on Thursday.

After learning that Jordan Dufont, a 23-year-old from Westwood wanted for carjacking, burglary and theft, was possibly staying locally with a girlfriend, Stony Point police conducted surveillance and watched him leave a residence he frequented as a passenger in a car.

The officers stopped the car. Then Dufont got out and ran away.

After a brief chase, he was caught and placed under arrest on a warrant as a fugitive.

Dufont now faces charges in Rockland County — for resisting arrest and government operation — as well as in Park Ridge, New Jersey.

He was sent to the Rockland County Jail.
