Traffic Alert: Route 9W To Close Saturday Morning In Orangetown
The closure for several hours in the morning will affect both directions and let crews make repairs to the roadway, according to NYSDOT.
ORANGETOWN, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) said that State Route 9W will close in both directions, between Shadyside Ave. and Hickey St., in the Town of Orangetown, for roadway repair work.
The work is expected to take place on Saturday, October 15, between 7 a.m. to noon., weather permitting.
Delays are expected and drivers should follow posted detours using State Route 59, State Route 303 and State Route 340. Local residents will be able to access their properties.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a driver's license suspension.
