Plus, he said, he had seen a black handgun in the rear cab of the tractor trailer earlier in their travels. He stated that the driver never threatened him with it but it made him feel uncomfortable.

The driver, Aaron Mosley, a Virginia resident, said he was training his passenger to become an operator. Asked by officers if he had any weapons in the vehicle, he replied "no," police said.

Both men consented to a search of the cab of the tractor trailer. A black Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm was located in a locker inside the rear cab along with other paperwork belonging to Mosley, police said.

Mosley, 21, was charged with 2 felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court Jan. 13, and sent to the Rockland County Jail.
