The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon and evening. A few of the stronger storms could produce large hail and damaging winds. Locally heavy rain will also be possible, resulting in mainly urban and poor drainage flooding.

There's about a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms from 4-10 p.m. Those odds are higher than earlier forecasts.
