Police: Huntington Man With Gun Threatened Woman In East Norwich

Police were called to a domestic disturbance at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

EAST NORWICH, NY — The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Huntington man for an incident
Friday in East Norwich.

According to detectives, officers responded to an East Norwich residence for a domestic disturbance at 7:30 p.m. They were told that Jeffery Chatelain, 45, of 17 Crescent Drive, threatened physical harm to a 21-year-old woman, which placed her in fear for her life.

Police said officers located Chatelain nearby and placed him under arrest without incident. He was in possession of a loaded black Ruger 9MM handgun. No injuries were reported.

Chatelain is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, stalking and aggravated harassment, police said.

He was scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
