Snow Total Estimates Climbing For Nassau County

Get your shovels ready.

Nassau County is now expected to see 4-6 inches of snow on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The worst of the storm is likely to hit Suffolk County where blizzard conditions are possible, but there is about a 1 in 10 chance of a foot of snow or more accumulating across the island.

"This is a fluid situation though based on model spread, with potential for these numbers to go down, but it seems more so upwards based on model trends," the New York office of the NWS said in a forecast discussion regarding snow total estimates.
