Warming Centers Open Saturday In Town Of Oyster Bay

With temperatures expected to drop below freezing on Saturday, the Town of Oyster Bay will be opening multiple warming centers.

OYSTER BAY, NY — A number of warming centers will soon be open in the Town of Oyster Bay for those looking to escape the bitter cold, officials announced Friday.

The warming sites will open on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to midnight.

  • Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center — 1001 Stewart Ave., Bethpage
  • Town of Oyster Bay Hicksville Athletic Center — 167 South Broadway, Hicksville

Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino reminds residents without shelter to call the Department of Social Services, which has activated its Winter Sheltering Program, at 1-866-WARMBED.

Residents without heating fuel or in need of an emergency burner repair should call the Department of Social Services at 516-227-7605 (8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.) to find out if they qualify for the Home Emergency Assistance Program.
