1 Man Shot In Peekskill; Police Investigating

Police said it is believed that the shooting was not a random act.

PEEKSKILL, NY — The City of Peekskill Police Department is investigating a shooting and asking for the public’s help.

Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Peekskill officers were sent to Sherman Avenue and McKinley Street for a report of shots fired.

When they got to the area of Welcher Avenue and Washington Street, officers found a 53-year-old man who had multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately given medical aid by officers.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police said it is believed the man and the other person knew each other and that the shooting was not a random act.

This is an ongoing investigation being led by the Peekskill police, officials said.
