Brett Hanson, Hendrick Hudson’s Scoring Leader, Named League MVP

He's a member of the newly created Cortlandt Rebels Ice Hockey team.

CORTLANDT, NY — Hendrick Hudson High School senior Brett Hanson was recently named League MVP for Section 1, League D. Hanson, a member of the newly created Cortlandt Rebels Ice Hockey team, will graduate as Hendrick Hudson’s all-time scoring leader, with a career total of 151 points.

Hanson was selected as an All-Section player this year in Section 1, one of only 17 players in the entire section. This year, the Cortlandt Rebels consisted of players from Hendrick Hudson, Walter Panas, Lakeland, Putnam Valley and Haldane. The fledgling merged program was led by head coach Bart Mucci.

“Brett had a great season and generated a lot of offense for us, while providing great leadership,” said Mucci. “I wish I had him for another year.”
