PEEKSKILL, NY — The Daisy Jopling Music Mentorship Foundation has launched a series of free, online music lessons for students throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. The free classes will run through mid-June, and you can join one or more.

Foundation Director of Performances Michael Feigenbaum is the first featured instructor for the series, presenting fun and interactive instruction on body percussion and beatboxing.

"People all around the world are turning to music for healing and comfort. They are singing from their balconies and sharing performances from inside their homes for all to enjoy. This is the perfect moment to uplift their spirits with a spectacular musical experience," said founder Daisy Jopling.

"Starting with Michael my foundation will connect some of the world’s greatest musicians directly with children that are isolating at home with their families, missing their friends and school. We also plan to end the series with a virtual concert featuring all the students who participate to raise funds for local communities and school music programs."

  • Beatboxing - students will learn this exciting art of vocal percussion in a fun and dynamic virtual setting. Lessons will cover the different sounds which make the foundation of Beatboxing, as well as rhythms, breath exercises and more.
  • Body Percussion - this class is a joyful exploration of self-expression and rhythm and teaches students to use the music of their own body with dynamic movement.

Both classes are suitable for complete beginners, and all ages are welcome. No prior experience needed. Join one or more.
