CORTLANDT, NY — The town of Cortlandt is looking for a planner to join the Department of Planning and Development.

The person would be under the supervision of the director of planning and development and would be responsible for preparing and conducting physical planning studies and participating in the implementation of community development projects.

In addition, the individual will be the staff liaison to the Planning Board, the Zoning Board of Appeals and Conservation Advisory Council/Open Space Committee.

The work responsibilities include participating in the formulation of Cortlandt’s development and land use policies, reviewing and making recommendations on proposed local zoning changes, preparing GIS reports and using computer applications in performing work assignments.

The minimum training and experience is a bachelor’s degree in city, urban or regional planning, engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, geography and three years of experience in municipal government with a primary function of urban or regional planning, architecture or engineering.

The compensation ranges from $91,000 to $116,000.
