SATURDAY, JAN. 11

Eagle Walk and Soup Potluck Gathering: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Croton Point Nature Center, Croton Point Ave., Croton-on-Hudson: (914) 862-5297. Join Charlie Roberto of Saw Mill River Audubon for an eagle walk while observing other wintering birds. Meet at the Croton Harmon station boat ramp. Movie: “Tiny Giants” 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River: (914) 864-7322. Join the staff for a free movie and popcorn, followed by an activity for children.

Volunteer Work Project: Inspecting Crabapple Island: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1, Rye: (914) 835-4466. Great for any type of service credit hours. Bring work gloves. Hand tools are provided.

Winter Warmth: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Muscoot Farm, Route 100, Somers: (914) 864-7282. Take a tour of the farm to find out how the animals prepare for and survive the cold temperatures of winter.

FeederWatch: 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.Cranberry Lake Preserve, 1609 Old Orchard St., North White Plains: (914) 428-1005. Learn about some of your backyard birds while identifying them at the feeders. Refreshments will be served. Also 2/1.

Feeding Birds in Winter: 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial, Route 35, Somers: (914) 864-7268. Discover the many ways you can help to feed birds in winter.

Winter Bird Feeder Make ‘n’ Take: 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1, Rye: (914) 835-4466. Make your own bird feeder to take home with you. Fun for all ages.

Owl Crepuscular Exploration: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1, Rye: (914) 835-4466. Listen and look for the great horned owl, our first bird to nest in the new year.

“Patriot in a Petticoat: The Life and Times of Ann Fisher Miller:” 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Miller House, 140 Virginia Road, North White Plains: (914) 428-1005. Enjoy a presentation about this historic figure followed by a tour of the Miller House. Registration required at (914) 428-1005.
