Edward J. Sheedy: Longtime Member of the Continental Village Fire Department

Mr. Sheedy was 80.

Edward J. Sheedy, 80, of Burlington, NJ, formerly of Garrison, NY, passed away on Dec. 25, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ.

Born in Yonkers, NY, he lived most of his life in Garrison, NY, before moving to Burlington, NJ, in 2009.

He attended Gorton High School, Class of 1954, and received his associate's degree from Westchester Community College in 1956. He retired from construction in 2009.

Edward was a volunteer fireman and was the former chief, president, and chairman of the board for Continental Village Fire Department, Garrison, NY.

He was also a longtime Scoutmaster of Troop 276 Continental Village and proudly served in the U.S. Army.

He was the beloved husband of Johanna MacKay Sheedy; loving father of Edward Sheedy Jr. (Penny) of Harrisburg, PA, William Sheedy (Lori) of Virginia Beach, and Karen Johnson of Burlington, NJ; brother of Betty Vaccarino of New Hampshire, grandfather of Michael Miller (Melanie), Rebecca, Elizabeth, Patrick, Meghan, and Anwen Sheedy, Mackenzie and Liam Johnson.

He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 2 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m. at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave, Bordentown, NJ.
