'Goat Trail' Lane Closures in Cortlandt Week of Aug. 30

There will be a detour, but expect delays, transportation officials warn.

CORTLANDT, NY — That portion of Route 6/State Route 202 called the Goat Trail — between the Bear Mountain Bridge and Annsville Circle — is scheduled to be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for three days next week beginning Tuesday.

While crews perform maintenance activities, a detour route will be in place, but motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly.

  • The detour for eastbound motorists will include traveling north on Route 9D to Route 403 east to Route 9 south to Annsville Circle.
  • The detour for westbound motorists will include traveling north on Route 9 to Route 403 west to Route 9D south to the Bear Mountain Bridge.

Use caution when traveling through the work zone area Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices.

Remember that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
