HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The remnants of Hurricane Ian — rain plus gusty winds — are expected to affect the Hudson Valley all weekend, with most of the precipitation falling for the longest time in Westchester County.

"This will be a drawn out event with two distinct waves of precipitation over the weekend, with scattered rain and showers in between these two steadier periods," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather on Facebook. "A general .25-.75” across the northern zones with heavier amounts south, where rainfall totals of 1-2” are possible. ... Given the rainfall totals, drought conditions and duration of the rainfall, no widespread flooding is expected."

According to the forecast, it could rain most of the weekend, with a slight chance of thunderstorms on Saturday. Temperatures will stay in the 50s from Friday night through Sunday morning.

Next week, the remnants of Ian could create a new coastal storm and combine forces with high pressure from the north to bring high winds along with continued rain and chillier temperatures, AccuWeather predicted.
