Main Street Gunfire Over Disagreement Leads To Federal Charges

An NYC man has been identified as the suspect responsible for firing a gun during an altercation that began inside a Peekskill business.

PEEKSKILL, NY — Just hours after Fourth of July fireworks ended, gunfire broke out on Main Street in Peekskill.

Police and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force have arrested a suspect in connection to the incident.

On July 5, shortly after midnight, Peekskill police officers rushed to the scene after reports of shots fired near the 900 block of Main Street. Investigators learned that a firearm had been discharged during a disagreement.

No injuries were reported as a result of the chilling incident.

On July 9, the Peekskill Police Department, along with law enforcement members assigned to the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, apprehended Quincy Lamar Williams. Williams, a resident of New York City, has been identified as the suspect responsible for discharging a firearm during an altercation that began inside of Ofori’s World Cuisine.

Williams was arraigned in the United States District Court-Southern District of New York on July 10, on federal charges related to the shooting.
