NYPD Officer From Cortlandt Accused Of Stealing From ShopRite

The Yonkers police said the officer took food items without paying for them on two occasions.

CORTLANDT, NY — A New York City police officer who lives in Cortlandt was accused of stealing $500 worth of groceries from a Yonkers ShopRite.

Yonkers police said Aaron Cataquet of Cortlandt also stole around $700 worth of food last month, News 12 reported.

Surveillance facial recognition identified him, authorities said.

Cataquet was first seen April 29 stealing the food, police said, and then returning May 7, New York Post reported.

He was charged with petit larceny and released on an appearance ticket to return to court.

The NYPD suspended Cataquet without pay pending a resolution of the case, the New York Post said.
