Services for Ronald George Paul

The Peekskill resident was 52.

Ronald George Paul, loving husband and father, resident of Peekskill, NY, died peacefully surrounded by his family and friends with much love after unexpected complications at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. He was 52.

Born on September 3, 1963 in Astoria, New York to the late Ron and Maureen Paul.

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Ottaviano Paul of 24 years and his four daughters, Julia, Olivia, Veronica and Isabelle Paul. He is also survived by his sister Donna Paul, and a niece Nicole Mauriello of East North Port, NY.

Ron was a member of International Alliance Theatrical Stage Employees, IATSE Local 52 for 35 years and Sarasota Florida Local 412 for 20 years. Originally called the Green Card Society, his great grandfather John “Bucko” Jones was a charter member of local 52 and his father Ron G. Paul was a recipient of the Foster Peabody Award and two Emmy Awards. Ron was very proud to be a fourth generation IATSE.

Ron was also member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, and the Girl Scouts (operation cookie drop was one of his favorite events). A New Yorker through and through, he was a die-hard Rangers, Giants and Yankees fan. His favorite soap opera was WWE Wrestling. Cooking and his family were his passion.

Known as “Ronnie” to his friends and family, he was a larger than life personality making friends with everyone who came across his path. Always had a story to tell, or something to share, putting a smile on their face or made them laugh until they cried.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 1969 Crompond Rd, Cortlandt Manor NY, at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life to follow at the Cortland Yacht Club, 238 Kings Ferry Road. Montrose, NY, from 12:30-5pm. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Dorsey Funeral Home, Inc, Ossining.
